Cho Seung-Hui

The Virginia Tech mass murderer in his note railed against sexual "debauchery" on campus, but his roommates suggest he was frustrated he couldn't be a part of it.

The taciturn Cho Seung-Hui was so lonely he made up an "imaginary girlfriend" named "Jelly," according to two male students who shared a dormitory suite with him. And Cho called himself "Spanky."

The South Korean immigrant stalked at least three coeds on campus, they said in a CNN interview aired late last night. In two of the incidents, the girls called police and they responded to Cho's dorm room. He was not charged with a crime, but he was sent to a campus clinic for counseling, they said.

Cho once told them he looked into the eyes of one girl he was interested in and said he could "see promiscuity." They say he acted so strangely toward the opposite sex that at one point they warned girls to avoid visiting their suite.

His roommates also reported Cho had odd habits, such as riding his bicycle around campus for hours late at night. He also spent a lot of time on the Internet.

They say his favorite song was "Shine" by the rock group Collective Soul, a tune he listened to over and over, even scribbling some of the lyrics on the wall of his room on the second floor of Harper Hall. Here are the lyrics to the song:

Several weeks before the attacks on fellow students, Cho traveled to nearby Roanoke, Va., and purchased a Glock 9mm handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammo. He put the $500 sale on his credit card.
