Porn star Ron Jeremy's campaign urging children not to watch pornographic movies has risen to the level of late-night comedy, as Jay Leno of NBC's "Tonight Show" is making fun of the effort.
As WND reported earlier this month, Jeremy, who has appeared in more than 1,800 porn flicks since 1978, and fuzzy sidekick "Pete the Porno Puppet" – a creation of a Christian church organization – are teaming up for a series of coming television commercials intended to keep children away from pornography.
"Here's what I don't understand," said Leno in his monologue last night. "Why did Ron Jeremy make a commercial not to watch porn? Do kids know him? It's not like he's Michael Jordan. I mean if your kid knows who he is, isn't it too late already?"

He received a loud round of laughter from the studio audience in Burbank, Calif.
"How uncomfortable is that for the parents?" Leno continued. "The whole family's sitting around at 8 o'clock watching TV and the kids are going, "Look! It's Ron Jeremy!"
"Who's Ron Jeremy?" bandleader Kevin Eubanks sheepishly asked.
"The guy who was at your house last weekend," clowned Leno to more laughter.
