Transgender 'patriot' speaks out

First, before I begin, I just want to let you know that I support WND and the work you do primarily as it relates to the illegal-alien invasion and the North American Union. My feedback below doesn't change that.

I recently read an article on WND about companies who were listed as providing workplaces safe from discrimination against LGBT employees. I am not only transgender, but I'm very active in the patriot movement. I began this journey when I was very young, and it's been some years now.

I feel badly that the "T" is almost always associated with the LGB as well. I often times do not agree with their politics. In fact, I almost never do. I'm very patriotic, and their politics cannot typically be characterized as patriotic.

(Column continues below)

But I don't believe that railing against people who were born with a gender issue, or even intersex issue, furthers traditional American values. I am of the belief that the society we live in is certainly overrun by political correctness; however, there is a line where we go from just not being politically correct, but to bordering on hateful.

I believe in personal liberty, and if someone chooses to live in a gender opposite their biological sex, that is not anyone's business; same goes for sex between consenting adults.

These are personal matters that people should not be persecuted for. It's called the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, which should apply to ALL law-abiding Americans.

We don't choose which Americans have that right and determine that others do not by allowing people to be discriminated against when it comes to basic things such as living and working. That is not American at all.

I have had the experience of having been terminated from a job in my early 20s simply for the fact it was found out that I was transgender. I had ZERO recourse when that happened.

Luckily, I am in a position today where my transgender status is not visually apparent to people, and that allows me a layer of protection against discrimination, but I worry for those who are visibly gender variant and the discrimination they face. I see many poor hand-to-mouth transgendered women, starving or homeless, and it's a tragedy. They are human; they are not animals.

Americans who want to work should be able to feed and house themselves. Those are basic human rights, not special rights.

A job is a living, and without a job you can exist but you cannot live.

We are all God's children, and some people conveniently forget that.

God Bless the USA.
