9/11 Plane Part Found Between NYC Buildings
A Boeing ID number will help determine if the landing gear is from one of the planes that were flown into the World Trade Center.
Police say a part from one of the commercial planes that was flown into the Twin Towers on 9/11 has been found between two buildings.
New York Police Department Spokesman Paul Browne said the piece of landing gear, discovered on Wednesday wedged between a mosque site and another lower Manhattan building, has a clearly legible Boeing identification number.
The twisted and rusted equipment features cables, levers and giant bolts. It measures 5 feet high, 3 feet wide and 1.5 feet deep.
