Millions of Egyptians throughout the country have protested into the night against the policies of the country’s Islamist President Mohammed Morsi. While much of the attention was focused on Tahrir Square, armed gangs laid siege to the headquarters of the president’s Muslim Brotherhood Party. After attempting to set the structure ablaze with petrol bombs and Molotov cocktails, an explosive deivce was detonated near the entrance. Government security forces then deployed to restore order.
