Steven J. Allen, former editor of the Internet Political Report, has been named Washington correspondent for the online newspaper WorldNetDaily.com.
“WorldNetDaily is one of the fastest growing Internet sites in the world,” said WorldNetDaily Editor Joseph Farah. “Our goal is to make WorldNetDaily the top online newspaper in the world, and the addition of Steven Allen as Washington correspondent is a big step in that direction.”
Allen is a former newspaper reporter and radio news director. He served as press secretary to U.S. Sen. Jeremiah Denton, R-Ala. His work has appeared in publications ranging from The New York Times to CNET’s News.com.
A lawyer and political scientist, Allen is the author of “Violation of Trust: Whatever Happened to the Social Security Trust Funds?” and co-author with Richard Viguerie of “Lip Service: George Bush’s 30-Year Battle with Conservatives.” He authored chapters on mass media in two textbooks. He is a former editor of The Senior American, a political newsletter for senior citizens, and the former senior editor of Conservative Digest.
WorldNetDaily is published by the Western Journalism Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to investigative reporting and, Farah said, “serving as a watchdog on government.” WND Editor Joseph Farah is former editor-in-chief of the Sacramento Union. Funding for WorldNetDaily and the Western Journalism Center programs is provided by foundations, by corporations, and by thousands of individual contributors.
