American distractions

By Geoff Metcalf

A “mitsubishi” in martial arts is a feint to the eyes to distract an
opponent from a more significant blow. America continues to focus on the
feint, while numerous and varied more significant blows strike at the
essence of the Republic.

There can be no reasonable argument that Bill Clinton is beyond
contempt. He is a liar, a depraved misogynist and unfit to lead or serve
the country. However, as his supporters continue to defend the
indefensible, and his opponents grow in number and variety, we all face
a Catch-22 challenge. We cannot and should not ignore efforts to remove
our global disgrace from the oval office, BUT we need also to be aware
of the myriad dangers the Clintonista agenda engenders.

While so many are glued to the next bimbo eruption to join those who
have already publicly admitted to knowing the President in a biblical
sense: Gennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky, Elizabeth Ward-Gracen, Bobbie
Ann Williams, Sally Perdue et al … and the alleged hundreds of other
sexual harassment victims yet to be named to the Paula Jones, Kathleen
Willey, Connie Hamy, Christine Zercher list. Stuff is happening.

As everyone was focused on the scandal du jour, the House dodged a
bullet Friday by rejecting a measure to give the president fast-track,
enhanced, trade negotiating power. Only 29 Democrats voted for the
legislation, whereas 171 voted with the majority of Republicans to
defeat it.

Saddam Hussein has flipped off the United States, and we’re letting
him get away with it. North Korea has embraced the Clinton tactic of
lying routinely and consistently. Russia is imploding and in real danger
of reverting to Communist control. Asia’s financial catastrophe is only
in the nymph stage, and the International Monetary Fund continues to
fester.

The U.S. military has been neutered, gutted, and damn near
eviscerated. Gone are 709,000 regular troops; gone are eight standing
Army reserve divisions; gone are 20 Air Force and Navy wings; gone are
13 strategic ballistic missile submarines; gone are four aircraft
carriers; gone are 121 surface combat ships and MORE.

Stuff happens folks. Someone, somewhere, in our government had better
read, or re-read Sun Tzu (“The Art of War”) and put down Machiavelli
(“The Prince”). The Republic is at risk as our leadership fiddles (or
diddles).

Sadly, America functions a lot like a computer: Garbage in — garbage
out. Disinformation and misinformation of the mainstream media has, and
will, contribute to the conditioning of the “sheeple” by our
“controllers” while potentially disastrous events transpire. We as a
nation are in dire need of a truth enema to purge the toxins from the
body politic. Without a national epiphany, the framers’ constitutional
Republic could well become an historic anachronism.

We have been lied to about Waco. We have been lied to about Ruby
Ridge. We have been lied to about Oklahoma City. We have been lied to
about TWA Flight 800. We have been lied to so routinely and consistently
for so long, that we have become desensitized to what the next lie is.
Sound familiar? Of course “… that depends what you mean by ‘is.'”

For six years I have been quoting Henry Kissinger in an address to
the Bilderberger organization meeting in Evian, France, May 21, 1991, as
transcribed from a tape recording made by one of the delegates:

“Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los
Angeles to restore order; tomorrow, they will be grateful! This is
especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from
beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence.
It is then that all peoples of the world will pledge with world leaders
to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the
unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will
willingly be relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted
to them by their world government.”

Despite the “mitsubishi” thrown our way, “whether real or
promulgated,” we need to focus. The Clintonistas have proven masters at
both creating diversions, and exploiting opportunity. Everyone, from
Congress to the heartland needs to beware of threats to the Constitution
and Bill of Rights. If we allow the bad guys to redefine simple terms,
misrepresent the essence of our founding fathers, and establish and
maintain a double standard grounded on duplicity and deceit, the
Republic is lost.

Final words are from Coach John Wooden, “Don’t let what you cannot
do interfere with what you can do.”
