“Notes from Moron” originally appeared Oct. 1 in Golden Empire Review, a monthly newspaper published in Bakersfield, California. “Moron” was the first name of the city of Taft, where Darryl Howell resided and died last week during a raid by local police and officials of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Genesis 6:22 “Noah did everything just as GOD commanded him.”
Noah was a righteous man — We, as God’s servants, consider ourselves
righteous through Jesus Christ.
We as God’s disciples are commanded to follow the Holy Spirit. His Spirit is to lead us in all actions.
Are we listening?
Revelation 2:1-3 “To the angel of the Church in Sardis write: These are
the words of Him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.
I know your deed; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it. And repent. But if
you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.”
What is our reputation? We claim to be Militia. We are told that we are
considered such. Authorities of this world seem overly concerned about our role in this area. Interesting how we get puffed up with arrogance over this “honor.”
It is not an honor to be in the Militia. It is our God-given duty! We
are commanded to be his soldiers. It is time to lay aside our “daily” jobs and return to duty! R & R is over! To arms, to arms! Where are His soldiers?
Right now, where are your squad members? Right now can you honestly state that you are aware of their location and their ability to respond to duty?
“Now hold on,” you say! Things are complicated enough without having to
be responsible for other squad members.
You are right! I apologize — honestly!
To arms — To arms!
Ephesians 6: 10-11 “Finally be strong in the Lord and in His might power. Put on the whole armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Okay, you are right — no time to worry about your squad members. Let’s
worry about you!
Where’s your armor? Rifle clean? Ammo in pouches? G.O.O.D. (Get out of
Dodge) bag handy? Food supply on hand? Where’s your:
Boots, socks, uniform, hat, gloves, water, medical supplies, transport(s), communications, rain gear, night gear, day gear, sleeping gear, food gear, toilet gear, gear gear.
Soooooo … looks like this might take awhile. Better tell the Boss we can’t make it right now. Sorry, it’s not our fault. We’ve just been too busy. Maybe it would be better if you hired some mercenaries!
Lord? Are you listening, Lord?
Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays
awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be
shamefully exposed.
