WorldNetDaily No. 2 on Internet charts

By WND Staff

WorldNetDaily is now one step away from being the No. 1 Website in
the world as it moved up this week from the No. 3 position to the No. 2
position as compiled by WorldCharts.com.

WorldCharts.com is the Website of the World Charts Foundation, the
company responsible for the weekly production and publication of the
Internet Entertainment Charts. Work on the charts began on Jan. 1, 1993,
and is carried out by volunteers.

Rather than polling Internet users through the mail or telephone,
information for the charts is collected from web surfers who visit the
site and “voice” their opinion.

Currently, the No. 1 website in the world is a site called
Lockergnome. At this site, Internet users can obtain shareware for
Windows 95, 98 and NT as well as get the latest Windows tips and
procedures. Chris Pirillo, the president of Lockergnome, also sends out
free e-mail newsletters to all who subscribe.

As is reflected in the site’s current ratings, WorldNetDaily has seen
dramatic growth since its creation less than two years ago by veteran
newspaper editor Joseph Farah. A little over one year ago, the news site
was celebrating because it had just achieved 10,000 hits per day. Less
than 2 months ago, the news site was celebrating again with over 1.1
million hits per day. Today, WorldNetDaily is receiving between 3-4
million hits every day, and the numbers continue to grow.
