Individuals as well as organizations from all over the country will
be converging on the nation’s capital Saturday for “March on
Washington ’99,” a non-partisan demonstration
demanding the immediate resignation of President Bill Clinton.
The demonstration, which originally was planned to protest the
alleged rape of Juanita Broaddrick and the Chinagate scandal as
reported in WorldNetDaily,
will now be protesting NATO’s war in the Balkans as well. Beginning at
noon this Saturday, the demonstration will take place at the south end
of the White House in the area known as the Ellipse. Demonstrators will
also be calling for a boycott of all news outlets that don’t report on
the full range of White House scandals.
Andrew Amirault, an Internet journalist and organizer of the
demonstration, said he believes that Clinton began the Balkans war
principally to redirect America’s attention from the unfolding Chinagate
scandal. Calling it Clinton’s “personal war,” Amirault believes that the
NATO action has dragged the country as well as the rest of the world
into dark times.
“I honestly do not believe that the world has ever seen a blacker or
graver situation than what we’re facing right now,” said Amirault.
Although some people are critical of Amirault’s attempt to
demonstrate on more than one issue, it is his hope that by demonstrating
about more than one issue, a vast number of people will come together.
“This is an experiment — to see if Americans can’t put aside their
differences for a few hours on a Saturday in May; speak the truth about
the president of this country; resolve once and for all to stop living
in fear; and demand a full withdrawal of NATO forces from the Balkans in
the spirit of shared humanity,” Amirault said. “We need to recognize
that the fate of this nation, and indeed the world, rests with each
individual citizen.”
One of the participants at the demonstration will be Garland
Favorito, a coordinator for the Georgia Volunteer Chapter of Citizens
for Honest Government. Favorito said that his organization is very
concerned about the alleged funding of the Democratic National Committee
by Chinese Communists in exchange for secret United States military
secrets.
“We’re concerned that the Clinton-Gore campaign had a total of 11
revenue streams that were traceable to the Communist Chinese government
military operations,” said Favorito.
“We’re also concerned that he (Clinton) is the only president in U.S.
history who’s given military technology to a Communist nation over the
objections of our own government agencies,” Favorito added.
Pat Cooksey, the president of True Blue Patriots, will also be
speaking at the demonstration. Reflecting on the accusations made by
Broaddrick and others about an alleged rape by the president, Cooksey
said that it makes her feel very uncomfortable when she sees a “sexual
predator” sending young men and women into armed conflict overseas.
“Because Bill Clinton may be a sexual predator, the traits of a
sexual predator cause me great concern, especially when he can place our
military in harm’s way,” said Cooksey.
Favorito, in commenting about the Broaddrick incident, said, “In
regards to Juanita Broaddrick, we have established a very dangerous
double standard in the sense that Bill Clinton is not accountable to the
same rule of law as the rest of us.”
Other people speaking at the event are Rep. Bob Barr, R-Ga., Cliff
Kincaid of Accuracy in Media, Bob Djurdjevic, founder of Truth in Media,
and Bill Triplett, a U.S. Senate investigator and co-author of the
Chinagate book, “The Year of the Rat.”
Commenting on the various speakers at the demonstration, Amirault
said, “This is really a very rare opportunity for America to hear
experts and politicians like Bill Triplett and Bob Barr — people who
really know what they’re doing. They’re nationally known figures
speaking the truth of where America has been, where we are now and where
we’re going to be in the future.”
Believing that there is a real sense of urgency in what he is doing
through the demonstration, Amirault is hoping that the nation will react
positively to it. He hopes that those who participate in the
demonstration will see it as a kind of “state of the nation” rally.
Speaking of the “state of the nation,” Amirault said, “The bottom
line is that if America doesn’t do something about the fact that there’s
a madman in the White House, these crazy conflicts can just keep
erupting all over the place.”
