A key speaker at WorldNetDaily’s first-ever conference to be held in
September in Los Angeles, Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman has
filed a complaint of dishonest conduct against the Maryland state
prosecutor who just indicted Monicagate whistleblower Linda Tripp.
Klayman will join best-selling author and Washington Times reporter
Bill Gertz, House Manager James Rogan, R-Calif., WorldNetDaily.com
Editor Joseph Farah and WND columnists David Hackworth, Geoff Metcalf,
J.R. Nyquist, David Bresnahan and Jon Dougherty for the conference —
“The New Media to America’s Rescue,” Sept. 18, at the Hilton Universal
in Los Angeles.
Internet personality Matt Drudge is also considering an appearance at
the conference.
WorldNetDaily organized the conference in the wake of the Clinton
scandals. Judicial Watch finds indications that communications from the
White House may have been what led Maryland state prosecutor Stephen
Montanarelli to start a criminal proceeding against Tripp for taping
Monica Lewinsky just as Tripp was supposed to testify before Independent
Counsel Kenneth Starr and Judicial Watch. Tripp is a material witness in
both Starr’s investigation and Judicial Watch’s ongoing Filegate class
action lawsuit. (Tripp has linked Hillary Clinton to the misuse of FBI
files in The White House.)
Judicial Watch says that in response to a document request it made,
the Maryland state prosecutor submitted false or misleading affidavits
to the court. As a result, Judicial Watch last week filed a complaint
against Montanarelli before appropriate legal authorities for his
dishonest conduct.
Judicial Watch has been instrumental in exposing dozens of examples
of government abuse and corruption. Judicial Watch’s relentless filing
of Chinagate lawsuits has kept that scandal alive.
Gertz then provided a riveting and exhaustive account of Chinagate by
authoring “Betrayal: How the Clinton Administration Undermined American
Security” to both critical and popular acclaim — achieving best-seller
status within weeks.
Says Klayman, “Increasingly today’s political battles are being
fought with tomorrow’s technology. The Internet, electronic mail and
other tools of cyberspace are taking on an ever-greater role and
importance. That’s why we need to not only keep up with the latest
technology, but use it effectively.”
The conference will analyze the new media as a tool for spearheading
journalistic, political, ethical and legal reform.
“The New Media to America’s Rescue,” conference will kick off Friday
night, Sept. 17, with a VIP cocktail party followed by Saturday’s
all-day program of speakers and a ceremony at which Bill Gertz will be
presented with an award for excellence in investigative journalism. On
Sunday, Sept. 19, the conference will close with a champagne brunch and
Q&A session with Bill Gertz and other speakers. To make participation
possible for the greatest number of people, WorldNetDaily is offering
three levels of attendance:
- For $50 you may attend either Friday night’s or Sunday morning’s
social events. - For $139 you get Saturday’s packed all-day program of speakers —
the meat of the conference — plus a gala luncheon and morning
refreshments. - For $169 you get to attend all three days’ events: Friday’s VIP
cocktail party, Saturday’s all-day program with gala lunch and morning
refreshments and Sunday morning’s champagne brunch and
question-and-answer session with Bill Gertz. Plus you also get a copy of
Gertz’s best-selling book, “Betrayal.”
For those who want to commute each day, parking is available at $10 a
day is available in the Hilton Universal’s underground parking lot. For
those wishing to stay over Friday or Saturday night, a special
