Today, WorldNetDaily Editor Joseph Farah announced the Internet newspaper’s
first-ever conference will now include some unique “notes” on making an end
run around the establishment media: Get ready for “New Media to America’s
Rescue — The Soundtrack.”
Steve Vaus, called the most dangerous
singer-songwriter in America today, will perform at the conference
Sept.17-19 at the Hilton Universal in Los Angeles. After being gagged by
record companies, targeted by anonymous threats and harassed by the Internal
Revenue Service, this sing-it-like-it-is patriotic performer turned to the
Internet to bypass the politically correct entertainment establishment and
offer samples of his music free along with his CDs and tapes which —
despite impressive e-sales — are still almost impossible to find in the big
music chain stores.
Vaus says he plans to further inspire conference-goers with music breaks
between the comments of the conference’s New Media stars, which include Bill
Gertz, the Washington Times correspondent who wrote the best-selling book,
“Betrayal: How the Clinton Administration Undermined American Security”;
Larry Klayman, chairman of Judicial Watch;
Joseph Farah, WorldNetDaily founder and editor; Rep. James Rogan, the young
folk hero of the House impeachment proceedings; J.R. Nyquist, the
WorldNetDaily columnist who has captivated Internet readers and talk-radio
listeners alike with his analysis of the world crisis, plus radio talk-show
hosts and WorldNetDaily columnists Geoff Metcalf and Jane Chastain. For an

Vaus’ strategy of using the Internet and talk radio to get past the
gatekeepers of the establishment media is what the conference is all about.
Other examples of this strategy in action include the classified documents
and new information posted on WorldNetDaily, which show that Attorney
General Janet Reno asked Delta Force to help her plan the final assault on
the Branch Davidian church compound in Waco, Texas, that killed 74
civilians, many of them children.
The information was passed to WorldNetDaily before any other news outlet
because one source, an ex-Special Forces commando, credits the New Media
with helping him expose nuclear smuggling and survive four years of wrongful
imprisonment. Keith Idema says it was by making collect pay telephone calls
to the Barry Farber talk radio show
that he was able to tell the world he had uncovered evidence that Russians
had smuggled nuclear material and weapons out of their country. Idema also
used the Barry Farber show to say he was being imprisoned on phony wire
fraud charges because he refused to give the FBI and CIA the names of the
secret sources who had fingered the Russians for him. Idema says he refused
to divulge his sources because he was told spies had penetrated both the FBI
and CIA and so feared for his contacts’ lives.
Bill Gertz, a key speaker at the conference also credits the New Media with
allowing him to “make an end run around the establishment press.” Were it
not for Gertz’s book, Americans would be left in the dark on the Clinton
administration cover-up of a national security crisis, unaware of shocking
new signs of U.S. vulnerability. But because of the best-seller’s
Internet-fueled success, many more Americans can recognize, for instance,
that a recent statement by a defiant North Korean official signals North
Korea’s increasing capability to, as Gertz predicts in “Betrayal,” “lob
chemical or biological weapons not just on Alaska and Hawaii, but on some of
the western United States as well.”
Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman, whose relentless filing of Chinagate
lawsuits against the government also helped expose the national security
scandal, notes that, “Increasingly today’s political battles are being
fought with tomorrow’s technology. The Internet, electronic mail and other
tools of cyberspace are taking on an ever-greater role and importance.
That’s why we need to not only keep up with the latest technology, but use
it effectively.”
The conference will analyze the New Media as a tool for spearheading
journalistic, political, ethical and legal reform.
The conference will kick off Friday night, Sept. 17, with a VIP cocktail
party followed by Saturday’s all-day program of speakers and a ceremony at
which Gertz will be presented with an award for excellence and courage in
investigative journalism. On Sunday, Sept. 19, the conference will close
with a champagne brunch and question-and-answer session with Bill Gertz and
other speakers. To make participation possible for the greatest number of
people, WorldNetDaily is offering three levels of attendance:
1) For $50 you may attend either Friday night’s or Sunday morning’s social
events.
2) For $139 you get Saturday’s packed all-day program of speakers — the
meat of the conference — plus a gala luncheon and morning refreshments.
3) For $169 you get to attend all three days’ events: Friday’s VIP cocktail
party, Saturday’s all-day program with gala lunch and morning refreshments
and Sunday morning’s champagne brunch and question-and-answer session with
Bill Gertz. Plus you also get a copy of Gertz’s best-selling book,
“Betrayal.”
For those who want to commute each day, parking at $10 a day is available in
the Hilton Universal’s underground parking lot. For those who wish to stay
over Friday or Saturday night, a special conference rate is available of
just $133 per room per night. The Universal Hilton is a renowned luxury
hotel almost unique in being within walking distance of many of Los Angeles’
most famous restaurants and attractions. The hotel is also fantastically
convenient for those flying in because it’s just minutes away from Burbank
airport.
