"Jesse Jackson is a racist demagogue, a David Duke in black skin,"
says Rev. Jesse Peterson, founder and president of a successful national
counseling organization that is marking Martin Luther King, Jr.'s
birthday on Monday with its first annual "National Day of repudiation of
Jesse Jackson."
Sponsored by Peterson's Brotherhood Organization of a New
Destiny, or B.O.N.D., the event is meant to
draw black people's attention to what Peterson sees as the major causes
for racial problems today, and how best to solve those problems.
"We will hold this event every year until Jesse Jackson repents of
his ways, and stops attempting to tear the races apart for his own
personal gain," said Peterson. "Dr. King is turning over in his grave
seeing what his movement has become, thanks to people like Jesse
Jackson."
The event, which has been scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon on Monday,
at the federal building in Westwood, Calif., comes in the wake of the
Decatur, Ill. football brawl incident and continuing controversy.
Jackson supported six black MacArthur High School students who had been
expelled after engaging in a vicious brawl at a football game.
Jackson subsequently led 2,000 demonstrators through Decatur,
demanding that the students' two-year expulsions, which have already
been reduced to one year, be cut further. Jackson also threatened an
escalated demonstration at the high school.
"It is time [Jackson] is exposed for what he is -- a cold, selfish
manipulator," charged Peterson. "Time and time again, he lays in wait,
only to spring up when he can inflame a racial situation. He doesn't
care a whit about those thugs he is protecting, or the rest of the
students. These boys need to be dealt with properly, not encouraged to
be wrong."
Peterson's non-profit organization is dedicated to "rebuilding the
family by rebuilding the man."
B.O.N.D.'s highly successful family counseling,
entrepreneur, mentor and surrogate brother programs have been helping
youths and their families for nine years. Peterson has been featured
prominently in the media recently, where Fox's "O'Reilly Factor,"
"Hannity and Colmes" and other television and radio appearances have
profiled "the other Jesse."
Speakers at the event will include Bob Enyart, talk radio host and
founder of Shadowgov.com, as well as Dr.
Wiley Drake, an advocate for the homeless who was threatened with five
years in prison for his efforts to aid the poor. Ezola Foster,
president of Americans for Family Values and Joyce Smith of Rejoice
Ministries in Houston, Texas will
also speak.
Peterson, who hosts the cable television "Jesse Peterson Show" in
South Central Los Angeles, said he is "blown away at the support we have
received since announcing this event. People from all across the
country have committed to coming and supporting us."
A talk radio host himself, Peterson will be a guest on both Ken
Hamblin's -- also known as "the black avenger" -- and Sean Hannity's
radio shows live from the federal building during the event.
"We must set aside the color issue, which often causes people to
tread lightly, and simply deal with this man's wrong actions," pleaded
Peterson. "If a white man were advocating lenient punishment on six
white thugs, this country wouldn't stand for it. It is time for all
Americans to stand against racist demagogues of every color."
