just want to say thank you to all who've supported me, and also to those
who've criticized me. As for those of you who've written to Joe Farah
suggesting (demanding is more like it) that he fire me -- well,
as you can see, I've gone the distance. So I need to thank Joe, as well,
for hanging in there with a column that has certainly caused him some

by a writer named S.L. Goldman. Though the name is the same, the writer
of this column is not the same person (make that persona) who wrote
"Fair Game." I don't mean to be cute, but I mean this literally.

There will be one, single subject that will be dealt with in the
forthcoming column -- and that is the subject of spiritual warfare.
Whether or not you want to admit it, it is a war that each and every one
of us is engaged in. However, I can guarantee you one thing: there will
be none of the usual, cheap, bargain-basement spirituality to be found
in what's going to appear in this space. In fact, I believe that the new
column will probably be more shocking and perhaps more offensive, in its
own way, than "Fair Game."
For the time being that is all I want to say.
