Phyllis Schlafly, founder of the national volunteer organization
Eagle Forum, will be a guest on Geoff Metcalf’s daily Internet talk show today.
A national leader of the pro-family movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, “A Choice Not An Echo,” Schlafly is credited with having been a key leader in the 10-year battle against the Equal Rights Amendment. An articulate opponent of the radical feminist movement, she is a frequent speaker on college campuses, and was recently named one of the 100 most important women of the 20th century by the Ladies’ Home Journal.
Her monthly newsletter, The Phyllis Schlafly Report, is now in its 33rd year, her syndicated column is carried in 100 newspapers, and her radio commentaries are heard daily on 460 stations. She even has her own radio talk show on education, “Phyllis Schlafly Live,” heard weekly on 40 stations.
She has written or edited 16 books — on subjects ranging from family to feminism, nuclear strategy to education, and child care to phonics. A lawyer, Schlafly served as a member of the Commission on the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, 1985-1991, appointed by President Reagan. She has testified before more than 50 congressional and state legislative committees on constitutional, national defense and family issues.
WorldNetDaily staff columnist Metcalf launched the Internet’s first daily, general-interest, national talk show July 3. Previously hosting a daily talk show on KSFO in San Francisco for five years, Metcalf is the first major-market host to launch a daily program whose primary carrier and syndicator is an Internet company — WorldNetDaily.com, Inc.
Metcalf’s daily program can be heard on WorldNetDaily’s streaming page — TalkNetDaily — as well as on broadcast partner KTKZ 1380 AM in Sacramento. KTKZ will broadcast two hours of the program live every day to listeners in Northern California, while WorldNetDaily carries three hours live daily from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific time (7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern).
WebRadio is the third partner in WorldNetDaily’s new streaming venture. Its innovative technology requires no downloads for Internet users already equipped with sound and video cards.
In addition, the program can be heard weekends on KSFO in San Francisco.
