Johnny Chung on CBN

By Julie Foster

The

Christian Broadcasting Network
is scheduled to air its exclusive, in-depth interview with

WorldNetDaily
columnist
Johnny Chung on Friday, Aug. 18 during its “700 Club” program — one day after the conclusion of the Democrat National Convention.

A CBN television crew shadowed Chung during a typical day in the life of the former Clinton-Gore fund-raiser, including during his shift as a janitor at a YMCA in Los Angeles.

“I finished my community service the day before they came to my house,” Chung said. “I came home at 3 a.m. Even before I put my shirt on in the morning, the ‘700 Club’ crew was at my door.”

After a lengthy one-on-one interview in Chung’s home with CBN’s Arlene Pellicane, the crew followed Chung to his office in the Los Angeles area, located just across the street from the Granada Heights Friends Church, where Chung and his family worship. The “700 Club” also interviewed Senior Pastor Stanley Ponz.

At the time the interview took place, Chung was performing his 3,000 hours of community service on weeknights, a sanction he was given in December 1998 for campaign-finance law violations. He was filmed doing his regular duties, such as dusting the courts, placing weights back on their racks and cleaning locker-room bathrooms.

Though Chung was filmed at work for two hours, he did not report work performed in front of the camera toward his community service debt.

Since the filming of CBN’s interview, Chung was informed that he will no longer be performing his community service at the YMCA. It is still unknown where he will complete the remainder of his probation terms or what prompted the decision.

The change was made just days after

federal Judge Manuel Real told
the columnist
that he would not be allowed to attend the Democrat National Convention in Chung’s hometown of Los Angeles.

Check your local listings for air times of the “700 Club.”
