With too few exceptions, today's male leaders are about as courageous
as Dorothy's lion in The Wizard of Oz. About all we hear from them are
calls for compromise and appeals for appeasement. They don't seem
capable of answering a direct question without first consulting
professional pundits, pollsters and prognosticators. They seem unable to
discipline their own selfish appetites or their own sinful offspring.
How could we ever expect them to spend tax dollars in a disciplined
manner? It's just not possible. It seems that if we want to find courage
and conviction anymore we must look to the fairer sex.
I well recall when Mother Teresa was invited to the White House a few
years ago. Her hosts included President and Mrs. Clinton and many
top-ranking government officials. In the midst of that august assembly,
that precious, old soul pointed a crooked finger at Bill Clinton and
told him in no uncertain terms that abortion was nothing less than the
murdering of unborn babies, and that God would judge any nation that
tolerated it. That's more than Clinton's "spiritual advisers" have done.
It's more than 90 percent of the members of Congress have done. Most
preachers have not even demonstrated that kind of courage!

I also remember the stalwart, teen-age girl at Columbine High School
who looked death and the devil in the eye and proclaimed her faith in
God. Such bravery has been seen occasionally in places like Valley
Forge, the Alamo and the Normandy beaches. However, it's not seen much
by America's so-called leaders today. That's for sure.
This past Sunday, the London Telegraph reported the courage of
another "warrior-princess." I'm talking about the former Prime Minister
of England, Margaret Thatcher. She boldly accused Tony Blair of seeking
to abolish Britain. In describing Blair's support for the Euro (a
European common currency), she said, "Unless they (Blair and his
government) abolish sterling they will never attain their wider goal of
abolishing Britain as a distinct,
self-confident, independent nation."
Can you imagine G.W. Bush, Trent Lott or Denny Hastert saying that
about Bill Clinton? Yet, Clinton just recently joined his fellow
Marxists at the United Nations in calling for the implementation of a
standing U.N. army. He wants an international criminal court and a
global taxation system put in place. He favors giving the U.N. more
control over the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Bill
Clinton and Tony Blair are twins in their desire to sacrifice the
sovereignty of their respective nations.
At least Great Britain has a voice of opposition to this tyrannical
New World Order: "The Iron Lady." America, however, has no "Lady
Margaret." All we have are Republicans.
