After receiving hundreds of suggestions to rename its popular monthly print magazine, currently called WorldNet, WorldNetDaily is ending the contest it launched last month.
The final day to participate in the special “Rename WorldNet Magazine” forum is today, June 11.
The name change has been necessitated by the rapid growth of both the website and the magazine, said Editor and CEO Joseph Farah. “As a result of this explosive growth, some confusion over names – WorldNetDaily.com and WorldNet – is occurring. We can easily remedy that by finding this extraordinary publication a unique name of its own.”
The response to the month-long contest – which offers the winner not only the distinction of naming one of America’s fastest-growing magazines, but also a free magazine subscription, a WorldNetDaily T-shirt and mug – has been overwhelming, said WND and WorldNet Managing Editor David Kupelian.
“It’s been great sorting through the name suggestions,” he said. “Not only are there some terrific ideas among them, but also, the love and respect people have for this website and magazine really shine through in their submissions. We’re very appreciative of that.”
WND will announce the winning name in the near future, Kupelian added.
Since March, WorldNet magazine has experienced tremendous growth in both subscriptions and single-copy sales, following WND editors’ decision to fill a major journalistic void by focusing on critical but mostly ignored “big-issue topics.”
The current issue, June, which Farah has called “the best issue of WorldNet yet,” features WND Washington bureau chief Paul Sperry’s mind-boggling expose of the way the U.S. government spends ever more of your hard-earned money – regardless of who sits in the White House.
Subtitled, “Why government’s voracious appetite for your money always increases regardless of party in power,” the issue is packed with 11 large, full-color charts and graphs to help make the message crystal clear.
Other recent issues have included March’s expose of the Federal Reserve System; April’s in-depth report on the IRS, the income tax and the 16th Amendment; and May’s groundbreaking investigation of the IMF and the World Bank.
July’s edition of WorldNet will present a paradigm-busting exploration of evolution vs. intelligent design; August will be devoted entirely to “Guns in America;” while September’s issue will explore “The deliberate dumbing down of America’s public schools.” “After that,” said Farah, “WND’s editors promise you the best issue on abortion you’ve ever read.”
“There is no better way to support WorldNetDaily.com than to subscribe to WorldNet magazine,” adds Kupelian. “And conversely, no better way for us to provide readers our best insights and research on the most important subjects affecting all of our lives and freedom, than through our magazine. By subscribing to WorldNet for $3 per month ($36/year), you are ‘watering’ both WorldNetDaily.com and WorldNet magazine and allowing both to thrive.”
Readers may subscribe to WorldNet magazine at WND’s online store.
