Hormone hostages

Well, well, well. Big surprise: It now appears that Congressman Condit cannot keep his zipper shut and his pants up any better than Bill Clinton. You would think these two male rats and their ilk were in perpetual heat – hostages to their hormones. Makes me wonder how many progeny they have running around in the United States and elsewhere. If this is the best these people can do to control themselves, why on earth should we trust them to be in control of the most important matters facing our nation?

What it all comes down to is this: Character does count! If our leaders are so brazenly self-centered that they will cheat on their wives and lie to the people they represent, what else are they capable of? Theft? Murder? They have obviously lied to cover their misdeeds – where is the line they won't cross? Aren't you getting sick of this, folks? I know I am.

And, it's not just the lecherous old men with loose zippers who offend. It's also the obsequious, sycophantic pols who pander to the growing list of victim groups. It's the sham statesmen who keep picking our pockets because they arrogantly think they have a right to raid our wallets any bloody time they please. And it's the pretenders like Jesse Jackson who bleed money out of companies with threats of unwarranted boycotts or promises of favoritism whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Character most definitely does count!

It is this utter lack of principled leadership and character – integrity, honesty, humility, etc. – that is destroying our nation. We have no vision for our future, and it is largely because the only vision our leaders have is for their own future! Ross Perot was right about one thing: There is a giant sucking sound. But this sound is the result of the vacuous, indolent sleazebags that are selling out our nation for their own gain – we are being sucked dry by their egomaniacal, greedy, immoral behavior.

But most importantly, we have turned our backs on God. As a nation, we have walked away from the One who could turn all of this around, make everything right if we would but humble ourselves and ask for His help.

Besides hoping and praying for a renewed national hunger for God's Word, what else is it going to take to get rid of these malignant, pseudo-pious politicians short of a daily zap from a cattle prod to their private parts and long prison sentences?

Throw all of these dirty, sleazy bums out of office as soon as possible. All of them.

Vote for people of solid moral character. That may seem like a tall order, but they are out there – they may not run the slickest ads or have the prettiest haircuts or wear the best suits, but there are decent people around who would do a much better job in office than the current crop of buttheads occupying the sewer that Washington has become.

Most of the good ones, I think, will be found in the Constitution and Libertarian parties. The primary consideration, however, is to watch out for the whiny, smooth-talking, shameless shills for every victim-oriented constituency they can bootlick – people with seemingly good form but little substance – like Barbara Boxer, Dick Gephardt, Tom Daschle and Al Gore. Start electing third-party candidates at all levels and just ignore most of the Republicrats. We could not possibly do any worse than we are now.

Either that, or we can continue to bleat in complaint with the rest of the sheep.
