Winning WWIII against terrorism

By Anthony C. LoBaido

NEW YORK CITY – The American people have responded to the recent acts of war in the best way imaginable – it seems everyone has a heart of gold. Make no mistake, America is still the greatest nation on Earth and the ultimate bastion of freedom. Of course, there is anger, and there should be. I have heard many New Yorkers talk about dropping atomic bombs on the Islamic world – truly they are outraged.

We are anxious to rebuild the World Trade Center towers, protect fortress America and revamp airline security. We can and shall meet these challenges while at the same time fighting the new war on terrorism.

We know that Osama bin Laden is the lowest form of oxygen-stealing parasite. The Taliban have been compared to Nazis, with bin Laden as Hitler and the poor Afghani people like the imprisoned Jews in Nazi Europe. As such, they need our help, our love, our goodness. The Sunni Muslims I met in Jordan and in Kurdistan last year are fine people who oppose bin Laden and his terror.

After rooting out the Taliban, America can truly save Afghanistan by dropping not bombs, but love, food, educational materials, letters from American school children into Afghanistan. By doing this, we will succeed where Alexander the Great, Great Britain and the Soviet Union failed in their wars in this wild and rugged nation.

The militant Islamists hate America and Israel. Although they blame their rage on Western decadence, their seething hatred long predates America’s moral decline of the 1960s or the drift into cultural barbarism we saw in the 1990s. During Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia would not allow U.S. troops – who were there to defend them – to wear Christian crosses. Why? What kind of a person is afraid of a cross?

We must also ask ourselves why the radical Islamists hate Jews, and thus, whether they will be wiped out like other groups who also hated the Jews down through history.

Some may wonder what LoBaido will do to help the war effort? In addition to already helping out at ground zero and reporting on the horrible terrorist attacks, I have volunteered to the top person in the flight attendants’ union to teach martial arts to stewardesses based out of New York.

Things have changed radically in both America and New York in the past week or so. Sports have changed – even the players don’t seem to want to play any more. New Yorkers won’t ever again give a standing ovation to Yankee pitcher Ted Lilly for hitting a batter in the head with the ball as they did quite recently. We’ll take a break this year, hopefully, from Spring Break. Mardi Gras won’t be so wild. We’ll question the filth we see on the networks and wonder why America imports more drugs and exports more weapons than any other nation on Earth. We’ll stop calling the Psychic Friends Hotline and ask God for help. We’ll pray again, perhaps even in school.

We’ll shed tears, not only for those we’ve already lost, but for the horrendous sacrifices that are still to come if America is to win this coming war on terrorism.

With the national repentance, revival and soul-searching going on in America today, victory over the enemy can be ours. With God’s help, we will not fail.
