An e-mail list called al-Qaida, the name of Osama bin Laden’s terrorist group, is circulating the Internet – promoting terrorism and requesting donations to support it, WorldNetDaily has learned.
The archives of the list are public – meaning anyone can visit them and read the postings. However, the listings were sanitized this morning.
A WorldNetDaily reader who discovered the site called the FBI hotline to report it.
One of the messages on the list included an attachment of a fax in Arabic. It seems to threaten the use of “dirty” nuclear weapons against the United States by an independent terrorist group called the “Secret Army for Justice” or “The Great Syrian Army.”
Here’s a rough translation of some excerpts of that document:
“The Great Syrian Army plans to issue/distribute filthy fire in the United States of America, and we will issue this announcement after we address the general decision, and follow on (pursue) the target’s activities by the Army of Syria after we send the United States of America a clear message regarding Sept. 11, and that means in the use of self-acting means/methods – going from its hateful floods in (the) mentality of arrogance and mastery,” the fax document says.
It continues: “The Great Syrian Army, about its plans of covert operations to strike (with) long operations of martyrdom to obtain success in New York and Washington and Pennsylvania, intending to increase the pride, strength and joy to the supporters of cell 15, on the heads of them that took the struggler Muhammed Atta (one of the Sept. 11 hijackers), who struggles himself after the long Jihad with hope and time from delay – (who) is strengthened. God bless the witnesses and their children.”
“Let it be known that the Great Syrian Army is not a member of the al-Qaida and has no direct ties or support from Osama bin Laden,” the document says. “The Great Syrian Army takes out an organized command with plans and different methods and varied different goals. The Syrian Army is a group of cells established at the ends of the earth aiming to undertake waves of operations on the United States to punish it for its twisting and destruction and violation of the rights of the Palestinian people on their land. And operations of the Syrian Army will never stop till the U.S. changes its position – which kills and slaughters the Palestinians by the hand of Israel. The long operations of distributing the filthy fire and operations of the brothers in Cell 15 in 11 September – these opened (the way for) bigger operations to it and in a wider scope (and guarantees) the Army the right to use new types of weapons and methods.”
