WND’s Christmas card

By Rebecca Hagelin

As a Christian, I am compelled to share the Good News with those who cross
my path. Sometimes directly, most times indirectly, but especially by
example.

Every so often, and always at Christmas, God gently reminds me
that it’s time to evaluate how effective I’ve been, to examine my own
“misdeeds,” to check the condition of my heart, and to decide how willing
I am to make myself vulnerable to scorn for the sake of others. During
these times of self-examination I’m usually disappointed that I have done
so poorly in sharing the source of my joy, and I ask for guidance in how
to be a light to others.

For the last 17 years I have worked in the field of public relations and
promotions. Sometimes I love my work, other times I loathe it. I often
regret that my “job” consists of trying to get other people to do
something for me: book someone on a program, mention an article, write
favorably about a project. Even though I know that spreading the news and
content of WorldNetDaily is beneficial to both other media and the general
population, it really gets old always having to ask others for their help.

I love people, and I’d really like to be the one who does something for
them. Building relationships is very important to me, and I enjoy being
with people and getting to know them. I highly value both my personal and
professional friendships because I know that relationships are the only
things in life that last forever. The only earthly “items” one can take to
heaven are people – people who have come to know Christ partly because of
the influence of another Christian.

A few minutes ago I received my publicity copies of the December issue of
Whistleblower
. I opened the magazine and intently looked at every page,
every image, every headline, in search of the promotion possibilities.

It’s part of my job to direct the distribution of Whistleblower to various
media outlets in an effort to try and book the writers on talk shows or
have journalists write about our pieces. But there was something
different that struck me this time as I began a more careful perusal of
the publication: the content of the magazine suddenly came alive, not as
just good information, but as a gift I could pass on to those I come in
contact with in my line of work.

Suddenly, I became excited about my position as a PR professional because
I realized that this month I have the opportunity to give something very
special to the people I’m always trying to “get” from.

WND’s dedicated and committed managing editor, David Kupelian, is one of
the finest people I have ever met. He works tirelessly compiling and
editing the “fiercely independent” news stories which compose two editions
of WorldNetDaily every day. Amazingly, on top of all that work, he
is also the driving force behind, and the creative genius of Whistleblower
magazine.

Last month David called me to discuss the topic for the December Whistleblower. He wanted the magazine to focus on hope, and miracles and to be something positive for folks to read during the first Christmas following the most devastating autumn in the history of our country. He wanted to create something more than just a reflection of the
news of the day – he wanted to share with the world the blessings of hope
and love. And he has done just that.

I sent David an e-mail describing what I feel he had accomplished with
Whistleblower this month:

David, I am now holding the December Whistleblower in my hands and I must
    say it is … lovely!

Lovely, in its presentation of the Gospel.

Lovely, in its presentation of hope amidst human suffering.

Lovely, in its presentation of truth.

Your article is particularly moving and beautiful.

I’ll be mailing it out very shortly to media across the nation. I think
it very well may be the most meaningful Christmas card many of them will
    receive this year.

Please view the December issue of Whistleblower as a Christmas card, a
card designed to inspire, encourage and renew your hope during this
blessed season and beyond. The issue was designed and made available for
one purpose: to share God’s timeless, constant love with you. I’m very
grateful, and even honored, to share the Good News with you through the
promotion of WND’s fine off-line publication.

My prayer is that you may know the One, True, Spirit of Christmas, not
just during this season, but always.
