An article in the Arabic-language Al Arai, found on the Jordan Times website, condemns America’s campaign in Afghanistan as a slaughter, part of the tough new rhetoric being employed in the region.
“The horrid war witnessed by Europe 60 years ago was modern and friendly when measured against the slaughter which is going on in Afghanistan today,” wrote Fahd Al Faank in a column dated Nov. 19. “In the spirit of Hitler’s military, it was expected that surrendering prisoners would be returned to their countries when the war ended.”
Al Faank alluded to prisoners – Afghan Arabs – allegedly being gunned down by the Northern Alliance forces.
“This is an example unlike any war in the 20th century for brutality,” he continued.
