Real racial profiling

By Joseph Farah

NEW YORK – We’re hearing a great deal, these days, about the evils of “racial profiling.”

Do I believe it happens? Every single day. Can the government stop it? The government is the biggest offender.

The government is deep into racial profiling every single day – in a thousand different ways.

What else is “affirmative action,” for instance, but racial profiling?

The psychology of “affirmative action” suggests that racial minorities have been victimized in the past and, thus, should get special preferential treatment in hiring, awarding of contracts, admissions to colleges, etc., to recompense past injustices.

Of course, the only way you can do that is to penalize those who are not members of these protected classes.

That’s racial profiling.

It’s not just the government that demands this kind of racial discrimination and enforces it at the point of a gun. The government’s partner in this crime against the Constitution is the corporate elite establishment media – which so often finds itself in bed with the state and its unjustified power grabs.

Here’s an example of how that government-media complex works to divide people into groups and, thus, deny individual rights.

Last month, Elizabeth Tate, 81, a white woman, was abducted from her San Antonio home by a group of Hispanic men. She was dragged down a flight of stairs and locked in the trunk of her car. Her attackers brought her to a cemetery, beat her nearly to death with sticks and doused her with gasoline before burning her alive.

The news media and local government (read police) reported that the motive for the crime was the theft of Tate’s car. That, of course, would hardly explain the brutal treatment this elderly lady received, as pointed out by Joe Sansone, vice president of the American Reformation Project.

In fact, I’m willing to bet you never even heard of this tragedy anywhere in the national news media. Unless you are from San Antonio, you probably never heard of Elizabeth Tate.

Imagine, though, if the attackers had been white Anglos and the victim Hispanic. Is there any doubt in your mind that you would have heard of this “hate crime”?

This kind of institutional racism is practiced by the elite, establishment, corporate press on a daily basis. The race of perpetrators of crimes is purposely withheld from news stories. The race of victims is rarely mentioned unless they are minorities. When minorities are victims of crimes, there is often the suspicion of “hate crimes.” When whites are murdered by minorities, no such assumptions are made.

The collective weight of this barrage of daily propaganda results in official racial profiling by government in the form of “hate crime” legislation and “affirmative action” coercion.

This makes the elite media, which long ago abdicated their watchdog role on government, feel like righteous crusaders fighting for the underdog, and it empowers government to deny individuals their constitutional, inalienable rights to equal treatment under the law.

Maybe you are a part of some racial minority and don’t feel threatened by this kind of official racial profiling. But think about it. America is rapidly changing. In many parts of the country, whites are already a minority group. Whose ox will be gored by the changing demographics?

Will it be open season on whites? Or, will the unconstitutional laws and illogical racial profiling being instituted today be turned against those minority groups they are supposedly devised to help?

I don’t know the answer to those questions. I’m no prophet. But I do know that misguided egalitarianism has turned to something ugly, hideous, insidious, evil and un-American.

On the one hand we are told every day by government and the elite media that recognizing racial characteristics is always wrong. Yet, who is actually guilty of this alleged crime? The very people preaching to us.

Let me ask you a hypothetical question: Let’s say you hear from a neighbor that a prison break takes place in your community. Those who got out are dangerous, hardened criminals – murderers and rapists. You also learn they are a gang which consists of six white men with gray hair.

An hour later, you see six white men with gray hair walking down your block. What do you do? Do you call the police? Do you lock your doors? Do you check to see if members of your family are safely inside? Or, do you say to yourself: “I shouldn’t be judgmental. I shouldn’t discriminate against these men. I shouldn’t use my deductive powers to determine my safety is threatened. That would be ‘profiling.'”

Every day, we make decisions based on information available to us. We use our powers of discernment. We discriminate between right and wrong. When we come to a green light, we go. When we come to a red light, we stop. It’s logical. It’s rational. It’s common sense.

The elite media and the government are actively trying to persuade you to cease making judgments. In a futile attempt to change human nature, they are taking away your powers of judgment.

The next time you hear someone talk about racial profiling and racial discrimination, there’s an excellent chance you are listening to a practitioner of the very evil he or she claims to be exposing. You’ve just met a real racial profiler.

And the chances are excellent he or she works for the government or the Big Media.
