According to Biryukov, the U.S. State Department doesn't appear to be concerned about the fate of the missing Americans and has taken no action to find them. He said the Afghan officials were surprised that the U.S. allegedly had suppressed information about the missing soldiers and had failed to take an interest in their whereabouts. The Afghan government, says Biryukov, has not received a single official inquiry concerning the Americans.
