WorldNetDaily has climbed to 823 on the Alexa.com rankings of the largest websites in the world.
As of today, WorldNetDaily is ranked as the 823rd largest website in the world over the last three months, according to Alexa.com. It ranks considerably higher than that in more recent rankings – moving closer to the top 500 mark on a daily basis. Alexa.com is a ratings and website search partner of Amazon.com. WND is ranked 578 on TrafficRankings.com.
Alexa’s rankings show WorldNetDaily substantially larger and attracting bigger audiences than all of the following sites: RushLimbaugh.com, the New York Daily News, CBSNews.com, SkyNews, NPR, the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, the Houston Chronicle, the Dallas Morning News, the Washington Times, AP.org, BusinessWire, TheStreet, U.S. News, Ananova, the Christian Science Monitor, Investors Business Daily, the Jerusalem Post, Motley Fool, Baltimore Sun, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, London Times, London Telegraph, Denver Post, Miami Herald, Detroit Free Press, the National Enquirer, Philadelphia Inquirer and National Review.
“There are only nine U.S.-based newssites larger than WorldNetDaily,” explains Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer. “They include CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, ABC News, Fox News, the DrudgeReport and the New York Post.”
In fact, Farah points out, WorldNetDaily is already solidly entrenched among the top 500 U.S. websites. About 56 percent of the Top 1,000 websites are now foreign properties. If you remove pornography sites from the list, he says, WorldNetDaily is ranked among the top 250 U.S. websites.
Farah points out, WorldNetDaily is actually significantly larger in total traffic than most rankings indicate. Most of the site’s revenue is produced through e-commerce activities on its shopping site, ShopNetDaily. But ShopNetDaily’s traffic is ranked separately by Alexa.com. By itself, WorldNetDaily’s store often ranks in the top 20,000 websites in the world. If Alexa counted this traffic as WorldNetDaily traffic, it would propel the site significantly higher. TrafficRankings.com doesn’t include about 25 percent of WorldNetDaily’s traffic, which goes to WND.com. WND.com, although a mirror site, is ranked separately by many ratings agencies.
According to most ratings agencies, WorldNetDaily also remains No. 1 among all newssites in time spent per user, a distinction it has held for at least three years. It also consistently ranks as one of the top 20 stickiest websites in the world – in any category, in any language.

In addition, for nearly two years, WorldNetDaily ranked as the “most popular website in the world” in rankings by the independent European website Global100.com. The Global100.com weekly poll, participated in by Internet surfers worldwide, measured popularity and reader loyalty. Founded in 1993 by software engineer Jurgen Appelo of The Netherlands, the service began as WorldCharts.com – a weekly, global top-100 list of the most popular PC games. WorldNetDaily dominated the Global100.com charts until the day the company shut down in 2001.
