Some viewers of “The Matrix Reloaded” believe the blockbuster science-fiction film equates President Bush with Adolf Hitler.
In a response to WorldNetDaily, however, Warner Brothers contends Bush is just one of many recognized leaders whose image is flashed on the screen during the scene in question.

“The images include photos of Gandhi, the pope, John Kennedy, President Bush and other well-regarded contemporary and historical figures,” the studio said.
“Some of the figures are negative and some positive; the intention was to portray a sample of significant figures of the last few generations, not to suggest any agenda or linkage between one figure and another,” said Warner Brothers.
Nevertheless, a reference in USA Today and chatter on the Internet indicates many viewers think the movie’s makers were conveying a message about the president.
During the scene, actor Keanu Reeves – who portrays the hero “Neo” – is standing in front of a large bank of video screens as he discusses mankind’s history with the designer of the computer-simulated world which is called “the Matrix.”
Images of wickedness begin to flash rapidly on the monitors, including photos of nuclear warfare and notorious killers.
“When the architect of the Matrix describes the folly of man,” Scott Bowles of USA Today says, “look at the screens behind Neo, which show images of a historical monster and a contemporary president.”
The historical monster to whom Bowles refers is Hitler, and the president is George W. Bush, as well as his father for a brief moment.
