A Palestinian daily newspaper has published an article referring to U.S. National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice as a “black spinster,” claiming discretion for not using the term “black widow,” reports Palestinian Media Watch.
Sunday’s edition of Al Ayyam also referred to Rice as the “black woman” three times and described her father as the “black clergyman.” Treatment of Secretary of State Colin Powell was a bit more generous in the article. The writer refers to him as the “black man,” the “black gentleman” and the “brave and moderate black.”
“Dr. Condoleezza Rice is the most influential national security adviser in the U.S. administration since ‘Darling Henry’ Kissinger. …” wrote the author. “The White House has seen some women with strong personalities, such as ‘the dominant,’ wife of President Ronald Reagan, ‘the bright and the ambitious,’ wife of President Bill Clinton, and the ‘beloved,’ wife of President John Kennedy. However, Condoleezza is the first lady [in rank], and the first black woman to serve in the most serious post in the White House. She is the ‘president’s brain,’ especially with regard to the current incumbent, who is the most powerful world leader but is one of the weakest presidents, [regarding] international political culture, to pass through the White House. …”
The writer then contrasts Rice with Powell and Jesse Jackson:
“In contrast to Powell, who is the ‘moderate’ in an extremist American administration, Rice is conspicuous by her thinking, which follows the American ‘New Right,’ which is conservative and messianic. She is the daughter of a black clergyman, who filled her head during her childhood with stories about the Holy Land. These are vastly different from the liberal political theories espoused by the black minister Jesse Jackson, who is considered a ‘friend of the Palestinians’ and a supporter of the downtrodden Third World nations. He was also the first black candidate for the American presidency.”
A warning is then issued by the author: “… Beware this ‘black spinster.’ We don’t want to say ‘the black widow’ out of respect for her femininity and her intelligence. …”
As WorldNetDaily reported, last month, the Egyptian weekly Al-Usbu’ said Rice had “damaged the world of the blacks” and is “suited only to work at a nightclub.”
The article mentioned Rice’s support for Israel, saying, “Some have called her an insolent woman, like the dangerous anaconda snake that attacks anyone in its path. She is suited only to work at a nightclub or to make her bed in the heart of the jungles and forests of Brazil, as a predatory woman!”
