‘Imminent’ attacks
threaten UK Jews

Jews living in Britain have been warned by Scotland Yard of the threat of imminent terror attacks.

Urgent measures are needed to protect synagogues and community centers which are seen as potential targets, according to British security officers, reports Newsweek.

An official warning to U.S. travelers to Britain is being considered by some officials at the State Department.

There is no intelligence to suggest Jewish targets in America face similar threats.

According to Newsweek, suspicious Iranian activities appear to be related to the terror concerns in Britain. In recent weeks police questioned a carload of Iranian ”tourists” who were covertly
video taping Jewish-community buildings in London.

A similar attempt about a year ago to surveil a Jewish target in Geneva, Switzerland was traced by authorities there to an Iranian diplomatic mission.

U.S. officials believe Osama bin Laden’s son Saad was among the al-Qaida operatives arrested by Tehran earlier this year.

Recent intelligence suggests bin Laden’s top aides have since been released and have returned to hideouts in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
