Savage draws high ratings on new station

Nationally syndicated talk-radio host Michael Savage’s move to a new home radio station, KNEW in San Francisco, earlier this year caused a significant increase in the station’s ratings, while his former station, KSFO, dropped to No. 20 in the Bay Area radio wars.

In the summer 2003 Arbitron ratings book, Clear Channel’s KNEW improved to No. 3, whereas KSFO recorded its lowest ratings in afternoon drive-time in over six years in the adults 25-54 demographic. Savage broadcasts his show from 4-7 p.m. Pacific.

Savage gives credit to his intensely loyal audience base, which followed him to KNEW.

“The San Francisco market is the toughest market in the United States. Although the people tend to vote extremely liberal, they are highly politicized, knowledgeable about the issues, and demand intelligent analysis instead of glibness and guest-driven programming,” Savage said.

Savage’s No. 1 New York Times best seller, “The Savage Nation,” is available at ShopNetDaily. WND Books will be publishing his second book, “The Enemy Within,” in December.
