In a presentation to 8,500 fans in Portland, Ore., author, filmmaker and political activist Michael Moore placed an impromptu phone call to the home of a conservative radio talker, revealing the host’s private cellphone number.

Lars Larson, who recently launched a nationwide show in addition to his local program, said Moore apparently asked the audience Thursday night to suggest the name of someone to call, reported KATU-TV in Portland. Larson’s name came up, and an audience member had his home number, which Moore then dialed.
Moore played Larson’s answering machine message to the crowd over the public address system, which included the talk host’s personal cellphone number.
The cell number was heard each time Moore tried to reach Larson during the presentation.
The cellphone hasn’t stopped ringing since, said KATU.

Larson, who also is a fill-in host for Michael Savage’s radio show, has joked about the incident but called Portland police after one of the calls turned into a death threat.
Moore asked the crowd, “What is it that they’re so angry about, the right wing and the conservatives. What are they angry about?”
Larson replied he’s angry because Moore hasn’t called back, KATU said.
“If anyone wants to call me up and say ‘Lars we want to talk to you about what you did,’ I’d say ‘fine,'” said Lars. “Michael Moore is a coward. Michael Moore is not willing to answer for what he did.”
KATU tried to contact Moore, but he has not called back or given a response to the incident.
Larson said he doesn’t plan to change his cellphone number because he uses it for so many business contacts.
At a recent sold-out performance in Santa Cruz, Calif., Moore took the opportunity to hammer talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh.
Moore’s latest book, “Dude, Where’s My Country?” is a New York Times best-seller.
“Three days after my book came out, Rush Limbaugh had to check himself into a rehab center,” Moore said. “I’d like to take credit for that. … It’s painful being an angry white guy. I know I should be more understanding, but not for Rush Limbaugh.”
As WorldNetDaily reported, Moore failed to meet the submission requirements of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences when nominating “Bowling for Columbine” for an Oscar. Also, critics of the filmmaker have called on the academy to investigate whether Moore fabricated scenes in the movie.
