Holly McClure, a Christian film critic who spent time on-scene in Italy during the filming of "The Passion of the Christ," will join WND's Joseph Farah on the radio today.
In her introduction to the book, "The Passion: Reflections on the Suffering and Death of Jesus Christ," McClure writes of her experience:
"The first night I walked on the set (they were shooting night scenes) Gibson stood in the courtyard of his massive Jewish temple, bathed in golden lights with the evening stars overhead. He laughed with his crew while wearing a red clown nose and discussing directions in between scenes. Gibson enjoys using comic relief, such as wearing a clown nose, to make those he works with feel at ease and to keep the mood on the set relaxed and cheerful (especially when dealing with heavy scenes).
"For a month I observed Mel Gibson direct, produce, and create his biblical masterpiece, pouring his heart, health, emotions, talent, and faith into every scene. I was not only impressed with the entire production and beauty of the film but was changed by my encounter with it."
