When two ex-presidents, a former vice president and a presidential candidate – all of the Democratic Party – got together last week for a unity pow-wow and fund-raiser, the entertainment included a gun-toting representative of the gangsta culture.

Though the Democratic Party is known for its aversion to firearms – especially handguns – and has pushed legislation limiting gun rights, there in the midst of this high-level, supposedly distinguished affair was the rap group Outkast, which promotes itself with an image of one member of the duo brandishing a gat.

Outkast won the Album of the Year Grammy last month for its latest project, "Speakerboxxx /The Love Below," which has sold over 3.5 million copies. CBS apologized to the Native-American community after the group appeared on the broadcast in feathers and war paint dancing around a teepee.
The award-winning album contains profanity-laced songs with titles such as "Where are My Panties?" "She Lives in My Lap" and "Vibrate."

As WorldNetDaily reported, in 2002 Outkast was the featured act in an annual music festival held in Columbia, S.C., that organizers called a "signature family event." Those in charge of the event believed the duo would help save the financially troubled festival.
But, nevertheless, along with Outkast were Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and John Kerry – not to mention some other shimmering stars of the pop-music world: Ginuwine, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Q-Tip.

Besides Clinton, Carter, Gore and Kerry, most of the other 2004 Democratic presidential candidates, and former candidates Eugene J. McCarthy and George McGovern, were there.
Many parents across America are struggling to figure out ways to protect their children from the effects of a corrosive and pervasive pop culture that promotes death, drugs, violence and sex. Apparently the Democratic Party is not concerned with any of that. It is more concerned with courting the votes and support of mindless, programmed, amoral automatons who look up to performers like Outkast.

For the Democrats, this was their idea of a "family event." This was their idea of "relevance." This was their idea of being hip and cool.
If indeed America is engulfed in a Culture War, the Democrats have declared themselves openly to be on the side of the enemy, the barbarians.
Another story caught my eye the same day as this event. On one level, it was just a local story. It was not front-page news in any newspaper. But it still says a great deal about the kind of life the Democrats and their entertainment industry friends dream about for your child.
Right in Kerry's back yard in Pembroke, Mass., the school district acknowledged two 14-year-olds were being disciplined for having sex on the school bus.
One parent noted the provocative clothes girls wear to school these days – thongs and skimpy shirts and shorts. They pointed out that in our culture's new morality "anything goes."
"I find it shocking that I'm not shocked. It seems this type of behavior is no longer a big deal,'' said middle-school parent Carol Allen.
"Look at the environment that we have to raise our kids in. Look at what they're exposed to in the media," she said. "Unfortunately, I have to say that, no, I am not shocked.''
Neither am I. In fact, why are the kids being punished for this behavior? It is what they are programmed to do by the culture – the culture embraced by Clinton, Carter, Kerry, Gore and the rest of the Democrats.
