Farah hosts 'French Betrayal' author

Kenneth Timmerman, author of "The French Betrayal of America," will be Joseph Farah's guest today on his nationally syndicated radio talk show.

Timmerman's book chronicles the events surrounding France's decision to undermine its longtime ally, the United States, in both the war on terror and the ousting of Saddam Hussein. In his book, Timmerman reveals why Americans can no longer trust the French, especially on issues of national security.

"The French Betrayal of America" presents evidence supporting the contentions that French President Jacques Chirac lied to President Bush and to the public about the war in Iraq; the war in Iraq was indeed a "war for oil" – waged by France, not the U.S.; France urged Saddam to commit genocide in southern Iraq to make the area safe for French oil engineers; and that Saddam paid off French politicians with suitcases of cash.

Timmerman, a former congressional aide, is a senior writer for Insight magazine. He is the author of three books on the arms trade and intelligence issues.
