The drive to link homosexual behavior with the civil-rights movement has taken yet another twisted and strange turn. This time, even logic has been thrown out the window. Behavior by the offenders is unimportant. And if they have their way, public sex is something the rest of us should just live with.

A couple of years ago, as I was preparing to do my talk show in Chicago, I got into a discussion with one of my co-workers – we'll call him "Roger." At the time, a major scandal was breaking across the Chicago area as it was being uncovered that multiple townships and suburban communities were practicing different forms of racial profiling. My buddy, Roger – who is African American – explained to me that after he moved into one of the communities being investigated, he would be pulled over on a regular basis for DWB – Driving While Black.

Roger was covering the morning drive time and would frequently be out of the house at early and odd hours. Patrolmen would find it "suspicious" that a black man would be driving the streets in their mostly white neighborhoods at "that time of day." The point is, Roger is the most law-abiding person I have ever known – he is a dedicated father, and a husband who is crazy about his lovely bride. Roger was profiled because of the color of his skin. It was offensive and deserved to be exposed.

Compare this simple example with the plight of those who were arrested in the "sting" operation this last week on U.S. 127 in Michigan.
In anticipation of "Michigan Pride Week," Michigan State Highway Police were asked to monitor the events of a certain public restroom on northbound U.S. 127. Citizens in the area had complained at some length to local authorities about the "activities" that were taking place. For single moms who needed to let their sons go use the restroom, this particular one had become an especially dark and menacing place.
In response to the complaints the restroom was staked out by undercover officers. The results? Twelve arrests for criminal sexual conduct, solicitation and public indecency.

That's when the charges of "sexual profiling" were leveled.
"There has to be a connection between this operation and the weekend it was carried out," said Todd Heywood who was briefly detained but then released.

Sean Kosofsky, a friend of Heywood, said, "It is illegal profiling behavior and an attempt to fabricate a problem." Kosofsky also added, "Officers typically 'bait' men in restrooms by smiling and eyeing them, thus coercing the men into criminal misconduct."
The State Police refute the charge of coercion outright.
Forget about the facts involved. The men involved in the lewd acts in the public restroom were "set-up" in their minds. I mean, why shouldn't a man be able to pick up another man in a public restroom – especially if its a prelude to "Pride Week"?
Those making the claims of "sexual profiling" – as laughable as it may seem to the rest of us – are demonstrating exactly why homosexual behavior is not equivalent to being African-American. There was no part of their DNA that decided to perform indecent sex acts in a public restroom. It was not biology that forced them to do their dirty deeds in a filthy place. These were choices they made to engage in behavior that they did not have to. And as the push for same-sex marriage and more and more acceptance of homosexual activity is pushed on the mainstream, you can expect more charges of this phony "profiling" nature.
The biggest shame in all of it is, my friend Roger can never change the DNA that says who he is as a black man – and he may face the injustice of DWB for years to come. The jokers on U.S. 127 could cease engaging in that activity at any moment, but their refusal to do so – and worse yet, the blaming it on an issue of "sexual profiling" – only causes the true instances of actual profiling to be taken less seriously in the face of true discrimination.
Just another example of why we need "clear leadership in changing times."
