Lipkin was an Israeli Army reserves spokesman for 14 years, serving 16 years as an artillery crewman. He was senior editor and translator in the news department of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir’s government press office from 1989-1990. Lipkin speaks six languages and has received his B. A. from Hebrew University, majoring in Sovietology/Russian Studies and East European Studies.
