John Kerry’s daughters try to hush booing crowd at MTV Music Video Awards

A widespread assumption that young Americans watching MTV may be more prone to vote for John Kerry for president over George W. Bush could be highly off target, as Kerry’s daughters received prolonged booing at the network’s Music Video Awards in Miami.

“From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers,” according to the Drudge Report.

Another website, stated: “At one point one of the daughters even held her finger to her mouth in an effort to ‘shush’ the rowdy crowd. The boos only grew louder when the daughters suggested that the best choice for
a president in this year’s election should be their father.”

The jeering is reminiscent of another rude welcome for a politician three years ago on MTV’s sister network, VH-1.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., received a large amount of booing during a charity event raising money for the families of victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

“VH-1 cameras captured firemen and police heroes wildly booing Clinton, who attempted to raise her voice above the shouting crowds,” reported Drudge. “‘Get off the stage! We don’t want you here!’ yelled one New York City police officer just feet from the senator.”

John Kerry, himself, was booed in his hometown as he threw out the first pitch in Fenway Park before the start of a Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees game last month.

As WorldNetDaily reported last week, shock-rock legend Alice Cooper called rock stars campaigning for Democrat John Kerry treasonous morons.

“I call it treason against rock ‘n’ roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics,” Cooper told the Canadian Press.

“If you’re listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you’re a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we’re morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.”

“Besides,” he continued, “when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn’t already a Bush supporter, I would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that’s a good reason right there to vote for Bush.”

Earlier this summer, Linda Ronstadt was escorted off the property of a Las Vegas casino after publicly supporting Bush-bashing film director Michael Moore, and singer Don Henley was subsequently booed on stage in Orange County, Calif., for expressing support for Linda Ronstadt during one of his own concerts.
