Joseph Farah, founder of WorldNetDaily.com, WND Books, Whistleblower magazine and author of “Taking America Back,” is one of two winners of the national “Friend-of-Freedom Award” for 2004 for his work on all of those projects.

Economist and author Thomas Sowell was the other winner of this year’s award from the Gielow Family Foundation.

“The world is a better place because of the work these people do and have done,” said the foundation in making the awards. “They are inspirations for other Americans who long for, and strive to make our country, a place where freedom once again flourishes, indeed, where freedom reigns.”

In addition to the activities for which Farah was honored, he also writes a daily column for WND, a nationally syndicated weekly column and hosts a daily nationally syndicated talk-radio show.

Previous honorees include author David Horowitz, media critic Reed Irvine, Rep. Ron Paul, activist Phyllis Schlafly and WND columnist and Sovereignty International Chairman Henry Lamb.
