The new feature documentary about President Ronald Reagan, “In The Face Of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed,” has had a strong showing at 14 theaters presenting the film, and the movie’s website has enjoyed substantial traffic, the project’s distributor says.
According to a statement from American Vantage Media, the film has grossed nearly $80,000 on screens located principally in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex region since opening Oct. 1.
The company quoted from many of the positive reviews the film has received:
“The must-see film of the year,” said Maggie Gallagher in the New York Post. “A masterpiece,” said Joseph Farah, editor and founder of WorldNetDaily, on his syndicated radio talk show. “Brilliant,” said talk-show host Rush Limbaugh.
AVM notes the film’s website has received more than 2.5 million hits in four weeks and has averaged over 175,000 hits per day over the past week. In addition, 100 individuals have signed up to sponsor group sales for church and youth groups to attend future screenings in theaters nationwide.
As WorldNetDaily reported, the film’s writer-director, Steven K. Bannon, has issued a statement criticizing Sen. John Kerry for comparing himself to Reagan.
A new commercial produced by Bannon and company, set to begin airing in key battleground states later this week, “helps set the record straight on John Kerry’s abysmal 30-year track record on national security,” said Bannon.
As WorldNetDaily first reported, “In The Face Of Evil” is based on Peter Schweizer’s acclaimed best-seller “Reagan’s War: The Epic Story of His Forty Year Struggle and Final Triumph Over Communism.” The film paints a grim picture of the bloodiest century in world history, with the more than 150 million, perhaps as many as 200 million, who died at the hands of totalitarian regimes.
But in the middle of that century, the filmmakers contend, arose a man of strong moral courage and principle who called evil by its name and resolutely declared, in the face of scorn, that the world had no other choice but to crush it.
