Voters given 2 ballots in Florida county

Some voters in Brevard County, Fla., were reportedly given two ballots and the opportunity to vote twice after complaining that a local
annexation issue was missing from their first ballots.

When voters at the Cape Canaveral Library realized the issue was missing
after turning in their ballots, they complained to the precinct
supervisor who reportedly gave them another ballot, reports Orlando’s
WKMG-TV.

”The ballot I was given did not have that issue on it but I turned it
in,” voter John Jacobs told the TV station. ”Then, my wife, who voted
before me said it was on hers.”

Jacobs was among those given another ballot.

The second ballot gave voters another round in the voting booth and an
opportunity to vote twice for their favorite candidate, reports WKMG.

”I’m very upset,” Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Fred Galey
told the station. ”She (the precinct supervisor) was still brain dead and
gave them the ballot with the annexation question on it.”

Galey said it was unclear how many people voted twice before the problem
was resolved.

The Division of Elections in Tallahassee has been notified. However,
officials say they don’t plan to throw away any of the ballots.
