A New York Times best seller, "The American Prophecies" as of this week had racked up a total of 1,262 five-star reviews on Amazon.com, surpassing the international best-selling "DaVinci Code's" 1,253, making Evans' book the No. 1 five-star-reviewed book on Amazon.com.
"The DaVinci Code" is a fiction book that attacks Christianity.

So intense has been public reaction to "The American Prophecies" that it became a New York Times bestseller in presales three weeks before its release Aug. 8, 2004 – very rare, and especially for a Christian book. It went on to hit No. 4 on the New York Times list following its release, and was No. 1 on the Barnes & Noble and the Amazon lists. The book also became a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller.
Michael Evans' previous book, "Beyond Iraq: The Next Move," caused seismic waves when it beat out Hillary Rodham Clinton's "Living History" as the No. 2 book on Amazon.
A year later, "The American Prophecies," replaced Bill Clinton's "My Life" at the bookseller's No. 2 sales spot, before advancing to No. 1.
Evans, a minister and award-winning journalist whose articles have been published in more than 150 countries, has been a specialist on the Middle East for more than two decades. He has produced 11 award-winning specials on the Middle East and has appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows throughout America, including Good Morning America, Nightline, Crossfire and has been featured on NBC, ABC and CBS.
An unabashedly pro-Israel book, "The American Prophecies" is subtitled "Ancient Scriptures Reveal Our Nation's Future" and analyzes today's tumultuous events in light of biblical prophecy.

The book opens with an admonition from President Clinton's former pastor:
"You might be president one day. You will make mistakes, and God will forgive you. But God will never forgive you if you abandon the state of Israel." (Rev. W. O. Vaught, Pastor, Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock, Ark., to then-Gov. William Clinton.)

The hatred of the Arab world for the West, and toward America in particular, Evans writes, can be traced entirely to this nation's identification with Israel. America flirts with danger, Evans says, when it accommodates the Arab world merely for the sake of oil. As God said to Abraham, "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse."
Evans recently spoke from "The American Prophecies" at the World Summit on Terrorism in Jerusalem, with former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and to students at the Kennedy School of Law at Harvard University.
The founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, the nation's largest Christian coalition, Evans is also the chairman of the board of Corrie ten Boom Holocaust Center in Holland. He will host 30 U.S. Jerusalem prayer summits this fall.
