Send coffee to our troops!

A Web-based program is giving Americans the opportunity to provide U.S. service personnel with one of the most-requested comfort items from home – fresh coffee.

Coffee for Our Troops sends "Freedom Blend" java from Cornerstone Coffee free to personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. Americans who participate can pay for as little as one 12-ounce bag ($11.95) or as much as 10 cases of coffee ($1,912) for the troops.

"Now you can send a fresh roasted bag of coffee from home and include a personal message of support at the same time," the site states. "Who would have thought something so simple could mean so much!"

"Your freedom starts with their sacrifice," states a video promoting the program on Coffee for Our Troops' website.

If you would like to send some fresh coffee to the troops, be sure to register on the group's website. That way you'll be helping both American military personnel and your favorite newssite.
