On May 11, 2005, the Associated Press reported that the Episcopal Church's Diocese of Maryland's annual convention voted to oppose the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

But the AP did not report that this convention, representing 23,000 households, also voted to "oppose discrimination on the basis of gender identity or expression as well as sexual orientation."

Do all of these Maryland households really oppose any opposition to such sexual orientations as sadomasochism, necrophilia, bestiality and pedophilia?

Not according to this resolution.
This Episcopal convention's resolution opposing constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage has no mention whatsoever of the need and desirability of requiring pre-marital blood tests of same-sex marriage partners.

This AP report of Episcopal diocesan sodomy acceptance came one day after the following news from Connecticut, reported by the daily newspaper Greenwich Time:
More and more gay men in Connecticut are contracting syphilis, a life-threatening sexually transmitted disease, according to new statistics from the state Department of Public Health.

Forty-five new cases of primary and secondary syphilis in Connecticut residents were reported to the state in 2004 – more than triple the number of cases reported just four years ago, and 50 percent more than last year. Of those 45 new cases, 34 were gay men, including 12 who live in lower Fairfield County.

Ladies and gentlemen: How could the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland be so (A) medically irresponsible, and (B) so disdainful of the extensive biblical opposition to sodomy – in both the Old and New Testaments?
Are all of these 23,000 Maryland Episcopal households unaware – or just not caring about the fact that Baltimore has had one of this nation's highest rates of syphilis?

Did any of these Maryland Episcopalians join with or express sympathy for the homosexual organization Rainbow Sash, about which I asked the following question at the White House daily news briefing on May 13:
WND: In regard to your statement earlier in the briefing, supporting the ability of people to worship freely as being very important, the national headquarters of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has received a news release from a homosexual organization called Rainbow Sash, which announces their intention to go to Catholic masses and churches all over the country on this Sunday's feast of Pentecost to demonstrate while trying to receive the Sacrament after they have denounced Pope Benedict as a liar and a homophobe. And my question: Surely, the White House will speak out against this worship-disruptive extremism, won't you, Scott?
McClellan: Les, I don't know anything about this matter, but you have just had the opportunity to talk about it and express yourself freely. We believe all people should be able to worship freely and worship as they choose, and that's --
WND: – In other words, you would oppose this interruption of masses on Pentecost Sunday, wouldn't you?
McClellan: We want to see all people have the opportunity to worship freely and as –
WND: – without being disturbed?
McClellan: – they choose. And that's our position.
