DVD-to-White House campaign begins

A campaign to send a message to President Bush by having multiple copies of a John Wayne movie shipped to the White House has begun, being spearheaded by geopolitical expert Jack Wheeler.

As WorldNetDaily reported, Wheeler, on his intelligence website To the Point, wrote that a number of White House, Pentagon and State Department staffers have urged their boss to take a "no apologies" attitude toward Islam by sending him copies of Wayne's "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon." In the film Wayne, playing Capt. Nathan Brittles, advises a junior officer by uttering one of the most quoted lines in cinema history: "Never apologize, son. It's a sign of weakness."

Mentioning the Newsweek Quran debacle, Wheeler wrote that the Bush loyalists "are sick and tired of our kowtowing, groveling, constant apologies to Muslims."

One of Wheeler's readers suggested concerned Americans take the same step as the administration officials by sending a DVD copy of the film to Bush.

Wrote Wheeler: "[Reader] Chris Landrum's idea is to have a 'SWAYR to the White House' campaign – hundreds, hopefully thousands, of Americans ordering the movie at Amazon and having it sent to President Bush at the White House, together with a letter demanding: No More Apologies to Muslims."
