"The detention of Deepak and Satish K. has not been prolonged," said court clerk Isella Wernet, as she read from a statement outside the courthouse. "The suspects are ordered released immediately. The detention of Joran van der S. has been prolonged 60 days beginning today."
Wernet did not comment further on the reasoning for the judge's decision.
The Kalpoe brothers, ages 21 and 18, were detained June 9 in connection with the mysterious case of Holloway.
The Alabama 18-year-old had been celebrating her high school graduation with 124 other students before she vanished in the early hours of May 30 on the Dutch Caribbean island.
Asked by Fox News the significance of today's ruling, former federal prosecutor Keegan Federal said that all that can be drawn is that it appears authorities have more evidence on Joran van der Sloot than the Kalpoe brothers.
