A new report from the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Health Statistics finds there are more Americans who think of themselves as something other than homosexual, heterosexual or bisexual than think of themselves as "gay."

While just 2.3 percent of men said they think of themselves as homosexual, 3.9 percent answered "something else." Of the men surveyed, 1.8 percent said they thought of themselves as bisexual and 1.8 percent did not answer the question.

Homosexual activists have often claimed 10 percent of the population is homosexual, but that figure has long been discredited. The 10 percent number is based on fraudulent research done by Indiana University zoologist Dr. Alfred Kinsey in the mid-20th century. More recent research puts the number between 1 and 3 percent, which is consistent with the CDC numbers.

Gleaned from the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth, the data are based on 12,571 in-person interviews with men and women 15-44 years of age.
The report stated the percentages for women were similar to those provided by the men.
Survey participants also were asked if they were sexually attracted to males, to females, or to both. Among men 18-44 years of age, 92 percent said they were attracted "only to females," and 3.9 percent, "mostly" to females. Among women, 86 percent said they were attracted only to males, and 10 percent, "mostly" to males. The percentage attracted "mostly to males" was 3 percent in a survey conducted in 1992, compared with 10 percent in the 2002 study.

The increase in female-to-female attraction was further shown in the statistics involving actual sexual contact. The proportion of those surveyed who had same-sex contact in their lifetimes was 6 percent for males and 11 percent for females, the study found.
As WorldNetDaily reported, last year homosexual activists in Canada disputed statistics from the government in Ottawa that showed just 1 percent of the nation's population identify themselves as homosexual.

The figures from the Canadian Community Health Survey also indicate 0.7 percent of Canadians said they were bisexual.
"What's clear is that there is under-reporting,'' Laurie Arron, director of advocacy for the "gay"-rights group Egale told the Canadian Press news service, claiming the number of homosexuals is somewhere between 5 and 10 percent.
