As WorldNetDaily previously reported, Gordon shocked some viewers yesterday by verbally exploding against fellow driver Michael Waltrip, calling him a "piece of sh--" and heaving his helmet at him. The uncensored incidents were broadcast nationally by the TNT network.
"Everyone thinks Michael is a good guy. He is not the good guy like he acts like he is. Caution was out, and he wrecked me," Gordon said after an on-track altercation during the Sylvania 300 in Louden, N.H. "He's a piece of sh--!"
TNT's play-by-play announcer quickly apologized for Gordon's remarks, and Gordon himself proffered an apology today.

"I let my emotions get the better of me and I apologize," he said. "I don't know what it is, but he puts the bumper to me a lot, and this time he did what he set out to do. We basically destroyed a great race car, and unfortunately it's the people that work in the shop that really suffer. We didn't deserve that at all."
"There have been a growing number of incidents lately where drivers have taken matters into their own hands. Such unsafe and inappropriate behavior has to stop," said NASCAR president Mike Helton.

"NASCAR will use whatever means necessary to stop it."
Officials also fined Kasey Kahne $25,000 because of an on-track altercation with Kyle Bush during a caution period and placed on probation for the remainder of the year.
