TRENDING: Report: Trump is considering forming a new political party
We've all heard the joke: "How can you tell when a politician is lying? ... When their lips are moving!"

Well, I'd like to personally thank Dr. Howard Dean for his appearance on "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Nov. 13th. Once and for all, he cleared up the question of who's "lying" and who isn't.
Dr. Dean said, "Honest Republicans are coming forward in this administration and saying, 'This is what really happened in the lead-up to the war, and the president was not truthful with the American people.' This is an administration that has a fundamental problem telling the truth." A very bold claim coming from a nut-job like Howard Dean.

I say "thank you" to the leader of the new, "honest" Democrat Party. Now we know, based on your astute analysis, Dr. Dean, that any Republican who comes forward saying the president lied is a truth teller and the rest are nothing more than liars – just like the president. What would we do without ol' Dr. Dean to clarify what has become a very murky issue.
Dr. Dean then went on to inform the American people that Mr. Bush's lying is not limited to Iraq. Oh no, he is also lying about the deficit, because Iraq expenses are not on the books, and that he's also taking money out of Social Security and that's not on the books either.

If Dean wasn't so dangerous for the security of this country, I would have probably ignored his insane and delusional rants, but considering he's now the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, I guess the media thinks Americans should pay attention.
I have a few questions for Dr. Dean and all the other liberals casting stones at the president:

- Have you forgotten that America is still at war? Are you unaware that our soldiers are in harm's way?
- Are you oblivious to the fact that our brave soldiers were sent by the president and Congress – with the Democrats' support?
- Don't you understand the potential damage inflicted on this country by undermining the president with your unfounded assertions that he lied?
Democrats are rewriting history as we speak, just as the president said. While they are busy rewriting history, why not go back to World War II to apply their new standard of truth and lies?

Remember, during World War II the Roosevelt administration fibbed about the president's physical condition and the media played along. Why? Simple, to prevent anything from undermining the belief in the strength our enemies thought he had. Our enemies must see America's president as a powerful, unfaltering individual who has the full support of his citizenry.
Did Mr. Roosevelt manipulate the intel that could have averted the attack on Pearl Harbor? Did Democrats or Republicans find it vital to ask that question while Roosevelt fought the war? Or did they hold their tongues, thinking it best to ask those questions after the war?
Apparently the Democrats had no problem keeping mum during World War II on these and other issues because they kept the bigger issue in clear view. I think they were wise to do so.
Why not use the same kind of restraint today?
As I remember, President Truman was totally blindsided by North Korea's invasion of South Korea. Did he hold back information that could have kept us from sending thousands of soldiers to their death defending the 38th parallel? How could a U.S. president make such a boneheaded miscalculation? Did he manipulate the intel?
What about President Kennedy? He was faced with the prospect of a nuclear war with the Russians. Did he hold back intel on the movement of nukes? Were there any nukes to begin with? How about his affairs with Marilyn Monroe or his excessive drug use which may have radically altered his judgment. Was a reporter getting too close to him so he engaged the Russians to "wag the dog"? No one was crying "foul" then.
Oh, and my favorite, Lyndon Johnson and the insane story surrounding the Tonkin Bay. How was that information massaged to get the now famous Tonkin Bay resolution? This incident triggered the bombing attacks which escalated the Vietnam War, ending with the death of 58,000 servicemen. Was LBJ "lying" using today's standards? Or did he make a critical decision based on flawed intel.
As we move ever closer to the next election, I expect the political world to become even more disunited. According to the polls, it seems we've lost our sense of national unity. Sadly this national unity is what used to make America the envy of the world, but those days are gone.
Americans today are struggling to choose sides in not only the great debate between Republican and Democrat, but more importantly in the fight between truth and lies. God gives us the discernment to find the truth – and then have the courage to stand up for it – even if it means holding our tongue during times of war. Remember: "Loose lips sink ships!"
