Turning JFK on his head

I find it astonishing that there still exists Americans who support the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Dennis Kucinich and all the other socialist Democrats. The recent news regarding the president's authorization of certain "wiretapping" practices to further our intelligence gathering against terrorists should stand as another stark example of several truths.

First, Democrats haven't the first clue how to protect this country against those who would seek to annihilate us and end our way of life. They make glorious speeches, filled with platitudes and promises, but lack the very fundamentals of action. They pen mountains of documents, portending to safeguard our lives, yet lack the ability or the will to follow through on any of those safeguards.

Second, Democrats selectively ignore historical fact. While condemning the actions of President Bush, they conveniently neglect to mention that they supported similar actions by both President Clinton and President Carter. As with most critical, difficult decisions made by this administration, which have been roundly criticized and demonized by Democrats, the alternative offered by these "chicken hawks" has been inaction, opting instead to obstruct critical decisions, shackle the president and take whatever comes, regardless the cost to America's safety and security.

Finally, Democrats seek to serve only themselves. In their pursuit of power and control over the lives and future of Americans, the decision is continually made that no price is too high to pay in order to achieve that goal. History is replete with examples of those who sacrificed entire nations to gain control of a moment in time. And without remorse or morality, they seek to use our lives and our futures to support the foundation of their rule.

To paraphrase President John F. Kennedy:

Let every American know, regardless of his or her wishes, that we shall pay any price, impose any burden, force any hardship (upon you), support any enemy, oppose any friend to assure the survival and the success of socialism.

Such is the nature of liberalism and the goal of Democrats.
