Sometime, surely, before Tuesday, Nov. 7, you should surely take the time to ask both of your congressional candidates:
“Do you believe that Congress should support the local police?”
If the candidate is running for re-election your question should be:
“What did you do in Congress about one of your colleagues, Democrat Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, who assaulted a U.S. Capitol police officer in trying to bypass the metal detector without her displaying any congressional ID?”
The Fraternal Order of Police and the U.S. Capitol Police have both asked Congress to investigate McKinney’s striking of one of their officers with her fist, as he quite rightfully tried without any such violence to stop this unidentified woman from bypassing the machine that examines for concealed weapons and bombs.
Congress should have, last March when this happened, convened immediately and expelled this racist virago from the House.
Instead, they left it up to a D.C. grand jury, none of whom have been identified. But Washington, D.C., is the city that kept electing that drug abuser, Marion Barry, as mayor. So why on earth does Congress in this case rely on a grand jury that refused to take any action against this cop-slugger?
The Washington Times reports:
“We hope that members of Congress will review her actions in light of their own rules within the ethics committee,” said Andrew Maybo, chairman of the U.S. Capitol Police Labor Committee. He said that if a police officer had assaulted someone, “we would face administrative action,” and that she should be held to the same standard.
“It is wrong to assault a law-enforcement officer … no matter what your status,” said Lou Cannon, president of the FOP’s D.C. chapter.
From BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, in Los Angeles, came the following statement from the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson:
The grand jury’s decision is a travesty of justice. Cynthia McKinney should be behind bars. The ruling to not indict McKinney is no surprise, but it is disturbing. The decision sends the message that it’s open season on cops and that it’s OK to assault police officers. This is the wrong message to send to the black community and the youth.
There’s a double standard in the way the law is being enforced – if you’re an angry black female congresswoman you can slap a white officer, cry racism, and get away with it.
McKinney has not disputed striking the officer. So how can a grand jury render such a ruling? It would be interesting to find out the racial make-up of the jury. It’s time that all Americans, regardless of color, begin to demand accountability from black liberals.
